STUDENT ABSENCE
To report student absence please call the relevant school branch, or Principal/Director the school. If your child has had an accident, please caption all receipts to the institution.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
Q: What if my child wasn't enrolled in September?
A: Regardless of when your child is enrolled during the school year, the M.I.P fee must still be paid. e.g., If your child was registered January 2018 it should be paid at this time, then it must be paid again in September 2018 if your child continues attending school.
Q: Can I only pay the Insurance part of M.I.P?
A: No. You cannot pay a part of the fee. It must be paid in entirety.
Q: If my child is unavoidably absent will I be refunded my tuition?
A: If a child is absent due to unforseen or exceptional circumstances, for example critical illness, a refund will not be given. Instead, a pre-payment will be applied to the account for the missed days totaling fourteen (14) or more excused absences for the next period.
Q: Why are the fees different costs when using payment options? Which ones are free?
A: To allow for convenience SLC Group has offered several payment options which are listed on our Fee Breakdown page. Each option attracts varying or no fees depending on the method you choose.
If you pay in cash at the school, this attracts no fee.
If you use bank deposits, fees are subjected to the bank's policies, and not by SLC Group.
If you use online transfers, your financial institution may charge fees for outgoing ACH or RTGS transfers.
If you use our online checkout on our website, you may incur GCT fees during this process.
If you use our Point of sale (POS) system at the school, there is a small fee attached to your payment.
Q: Why am I paying General Consumption Taxes (GCT) using online checkout?
A: The General Consumption Tax (GCT) is currently mandated by the Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ). This GCT will be paid over to TAJ. This is not an SLC Group revenue.
Q: What if I can't afford the School Fee?
A: We understand that everyone's financial circumstances are different. If you are having challenges paying your fees, come speak with us and we will try to facilitate payment plans or other options to best suit you and your child's need.
